B is for Bean-Sidhe by Salaidard
Banshee are faery that are usually thought of as harbingers of death. That wasn’t the case originally: they were simply mourning the death of people from their “families”. Nowadays it is said that hearing the keening of a Banshee means that someone will soon die or even that you will die from hearing it.
Their name, Bean-Sidhe, means “woman of the sidhe”. (basically it means a faery, in case you’re not familiar with the sidhe thing)
